When Kris (CEO and Founder of EMR-TEK) treated his vitiligo with narrowband UVB at age 13, the protocol was always: apply the cream first, wait for it to work, then apply the light. The topical prepared the biochemistry. The light drove the response.

That's the design principle behind the Light Fusion system.

Apply the companion sheet mask first (sold separately)  — 15 minutes. It delivers active ingredients (collagen peptides, niacinamide, alpha-arbutin, aloe vera) that prime your skin.

Then put on the ETERNO LED mask. 

The light penetrates deeper, the response is stronger.

What each wavelength does:

630nm red stimulates collagen and elastin production and supports wound healing.

 525nm green targets melanin and hyperpigmentation — uneven tone, sun spots, post-acne marks.

580nm yellow reduces visible redness and supports vascular health — the wavelength used for rosacea-adjacent symptoms. No blue light in this device, by choice.

Blue light in LED face masks was the subject of an FDA recall. We built ours without it.

Why Plastic + Heat = A Risk for Your Skin

Most low-cost LED masks are molded from polycarbonate or ABS plastic — the same materials used in electronics, not skincare. They’re cheap, lightweight, and easy to mass-produce — but not designed for prolonged, heated contact with human skin.

When LEDs — especially near-infrared diodes (700–900 nm) — activate, they generate thermal energy. Even a 5–10 °C rise in surface temperature can:

• Soften and degrade the plastic matrix

• Accelerate leaching of plasticizers, stabilizers, and unreacted monomers like BPA, phthalates, and styrene

• Promote off-gassing of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) that can redeposit onto skin

Scientific research confirms this mechanism: when plastics are warmed — for example, a water bottle left in the sun — migration of BPA and phthalates sharply increases. Your skin, being lipid-rich and porous, can similarly absorb trace compounds, especially when warmed and hydrated under a sealed plastic mask.
